Maccabi WA clubs were on show  with hundreds of people coming to the Maccabi grounds to try a sport or activity on the inaugural Open Day 2020. The day was topped off with Tae Kwon Do Grand Master Pak awarding Asher Raiter his black belt and Club President  Dr Jeremy Raiter his 4th Dan black belt and therefore his licence to be an instructor. Junior gradings and a family grading was also held.

The Hora Macabi Dancing group showcased their stunning dance routines with some  new comers showing their graceful moves and attracting a lot of interest to join.

Maccabi hired a full professional boxing ring from Boxing WA for the day and people lined up to verse Rabbi Dan Lieberman  - a very popular opponent in the boxing ring! Rabbi Dan's boxing classes are so full now we may need to hire extra instructors.

Chess and Archery were also very popular with WA State archer Karen Frankel and Jules Wolpert lending a hand to the Junior archers. Soccer's  "Beat the goalie" and tennis games were also popular. The basketball 3 pointer comp had queues of kids trying to slam dunk a 3 pointer.

Table Tennis also proved popular and an afterschool time slot will be on offer in 2021 to cater for the Juniors.

A big thanks to all our WA Club Presidents for getting such a huge turnout.

Overall it was a hugely successful day for Maccabi WA clubs and a welcome relief from the winter Corona restriction blues.- stay tuned for future schedules of sports and activities for 2021.
