She also organised a Youth Development Workshop which was invaluable for our own youth in preparing them for the Youth Leader role.
She prepares all paper work for the Executive meetings and AGM and her attention to details is outstanding. Whilst we had no book keeper Dawn also took on this role helped us streamline our accounts system and  provide an organised hand over.
Dawn’s knowledge and professionalism in administrative services has been a major contribution to the success of Maccabi WA in the last 3 years.

George Cohen Jewish Sportsperson of the Year

Presented to Laura Waltman - Soccer

Laura won Football West Women's Gold Medal Award for the Women’s Premier League in 2019, a prestigious award earned by the player who won the most votes for their performance throughout the season. A joint winner with her Fremantle City teammate, Laura was the first defender to be recognised for this award.

Her speed and reading of the game provided a solid base for Fremantle City to build from the back and she was often the start of their counter attacks. Whilst not the tallest player, Laura  very rarely found herself losing out to taller opponents due to her superb positioning and anticipation.

She is currently trialling for the Perth Glory Women’s team for the season set to start on the 27th of December.

Laura has represented Australia at 2 Maccabiah Games  once as a Junior during Year 12,  and once in the Open comp. She has also represented Australia at the Maccabi  Pan Am Games. She  has a  Sport Science degree from  Curtin Uni.
