Yosef Yekutieli, a 15-year-old Russian-born immigrant to Palestine was so inspired by the Olympic Games in Stockholm that he embarked on a quest to create a similar event for Jewish athletes. After years of lobbying, Tel Aviv played host to the first Jewish Games in 1932.

90 years on, from the 12th to the 26th of July 2022, Maccabi Team Australia will continue that tradition and connect with more than ten thousand Jewish athletes from over 80 countries and compete in the 21st Maccabiah Games in Israel in 2022.

Pre-Camp for the Australian Team will take place in Israel from the 8th to the 12th of July 2022.

Who is Junior Carnival for?

Junior Carnival is for any kids ages 11 and a half to 15 years old from across the Australian Jewish community.

The JCC Maccabi Games is an annual sporting event held in the United States of America. Over the years Maccabi Australia has sent several teams to the JCC Maccabi Games. These Games are a fabulous opportunity to play sport at a high level in an environment set up to meet like minded poeple and athletes.
