A new format for Junior Carnival - there is something for everyone

The 36th Maccabi Junior Carnival to be held in Melbourne, January 14-21, 2018 has launched across Australia. Information nights in Melbourne and Perth have exceeded expectations with more than 200 youth aged 12-16 attending.

Maccabi Australia is excited to announce a new format for the upcoming Junior Carnival. Running concurrently, Carnival will incorporate both Maccabi Carnival Colour Games and Maccabi National Club Championships.

Maccabi National Club Championships will see the best of Maccabi teams from Victoria, NSW, Qld & WA competing against each other, representing their home club. This exciting event will feature basketball, soccer, netball and tennis. State Maccabi clubs are currently seeking interest from their best athletes to be part of this inaugural event. Teams will compete in a round robin competition with the winners to be awarded a trophy.

Maccabi Colour Games takes Maccabi’s traditional sporting carnival and turns it up full volume. The week long program will see participants competing in activities ranging from traditional basketball, soccer and netball, to stand up paddle boarding, wacky swimming races, beach events, e-games and movie production. The full program features 5 full days of sporting activities and night time activities including a pool party, dress-up movie night, colour run and much more.

With more than 400 participants expected to attend the 36th Junior Carnival, the organising committee have ensured that the program is inclusive and accessible and they’ve catered for the competitive athlete, the social butterfly and the many athletes that fall in between.

Not to forget Backman Reuben Grunfeld who snuck up off the cozy backline to get into the action with one as well.
