NSW vs VIC in Cricket - 90th Masters Interstate Challenge

IT was a wonderful day at Kensington Oval in Sydney on Sunday 18th October. As part of the 90th Anniversary, two old foes – NSW and Victoria - came together to play a game of cricket. Thanks to the efforts of Paul Platus who drove this game into reality!

These teams had not played against each other for many years – and it was a special occasion to have the two teams come together to celebrate the event.

NSW vs VIC in Basketball -  Masters 90th Interstate Challenge

THE NSW v VIC 90th Anniversary Masters Basketball Tournament was held in Sydney last weekend of 17th and 18th October 2015.

The general comment from everybody participating was how great it was to revitalise this terrific rivalry between NSW and VIC. So many friendships were made during the original carnivals and the Masters tournament brought back all the memories and the friendships.

MACCABI MEMBERS

The Melbourne Marathon Festival recently had some people testing their physical ability, others there for fun and some to celebrate and support the National Stroke Foundation. This amazing friend of @onthelistmelb has an incredible and breathtakingly inspiring story to share and I bet today's participants are full of people like Paul Fink. Ask them, talk about it and show your support. These people are a true inspiration #melbournemarathon #fightstroke #livelifefit #llfphysioandexercise #gelbartsgym #stroke #nationalstrokefoundation #onthelistmelb

Mazel Tov and Thank You Charlie and Jarrod

Mazel Tov and Thank you to Charlie Grodski and Jarrod Waislitz who recently celebrated their Bar-Mitzvahs and chose to support Maccabi Victoria.

“We wanted to ask our friends coming to our Barmitzvah party to donate to something that had to do with kids and sport and the Jewish community.  We have played in different Maccabi teams and thought the Maccabi Sports Foundation could help Jewish kids play in those teams if they couldn’t afford it.”

A donation to Maccabi Victoria can help a disadvantaged child to join a Maccabi Club or go to Junior Carnival or make a difference to an important Maccabi project

Please consider supporting Maccabi Victoria in honour of your Simcha

All donations to the Maccabi Victoria Sports Foundation are fully tax deductible.  Call (03) 9563 5885 or email: info@macvic.com.au

77:78 On The Map

“We are on the map! And we are staying on the map – not only in sports, but in everything.” – Tal Brody, Maccabi Tel Aviv Captain

1977 is a tough year for Israel. But among the tensions with Palestine and the resignation of Prime Minister Rabin, something unexpected happens: Maccabi Tel Aviv, a fairly average basketball team, manage to take on the rest of the world in the European Cup. From the David and Goliath match against the Soviet Union and the centuries of bad blood flowing onto the court, to the unbelievable events unfolding behind the scenes, the odds were clearly against Maccabi. And what happened next changed history.
