Maccabi Victoria AGM 2015

Over 50 people, including Maccabi Club Representatives, Hall of Fame Members, Life Members, Board and Foundation members, attended the 2015 Maccabi Victoria AGM held on Wednesday 19 August at the offices of Maccabi Victoria.

After the Election of Officers (the MacVic Board remains as is), the re-appointment of Honorary Solicitor, Michael Sharp, and Auditor, Hilton Miller, further reports from Russell Jaffe (MVSF), Ellana Aarons (MAI), Mark Klapish (90th Anniversary Celebrations), Nikki Burger (2017 Maccabiah), a few items of General Business, and a heartfelt thank you from Joe to our valued Sponsors and to all the dedicated volunteers who run our Clubs and organisation, the 2015 AGM was over for another year.

All there was left to do was much mingling over the MacVic AGM supper, where the 90th Anniversary Celebrations were certainly the hot topic of conversation.

Your Sneak Peek into 2016 Sydney Junior Carnival

With registrations for Carnival now open, I thought I'd take this opportunity to provide an overview of what Carnival is all about for those new to this amazing annual Jewish sporting experience for 12-16 year olds.

What is it? A week packed with indoor/outdoor and competitive/social sporting activities during the day - and then parties at  night! It is an experience like no other. Everyone is billeted and grouped with those of a similar age - so you get to make new friends with Jewish teens from New South Wales, Victoria, Queensland and even New Zealand! Trust me, these are the friendships that you'll treasure for many years to come!

Some of the highlights of the 2016 Carnival in Sydney include:

Adventure Day - A challenging, yet enjoyable, obstacle course at St Ives Showground.
Foam Party – It’s like one big bubble bath – plus a DJ. How can you go wrong?
Israeli Shuk Evening – Complete with Israeli food, dancing and entertainment!
Show Night – Be prepared to be amazed and very amused! That’s all I’m saying.
Community Day - All Carnival participants will get the opportunity to give back to the community in some way or learn more about an influential local charity.

34th Maccabi Junior Carnival Manager

Jackas thrashed, Jackettes and Thirds’ finals fever

Ajax’s Seniors were completely outplayed against second-placed St Bedes/Mentone on Saturday, suffering a harsh blow to their faint finals hopes in the 7.7 (49) to 20.25 (145)

Meanwhile the Jackettes won their Semi-Final in convincing fashion, while the Thirds (Blacks) were brave against the undefeated Old Xaverians in their first final.

Get Into Cycling

It's that time of year with lots of great cycling things about to happen - SPRING & WARMER WEATHER,

With the Maccabi Cycling's Tour of Tassie (only 3 places left, hurry or miss out!) coming up, Around the Bay, Amy's Gran Fondo and the annual Great Ocean Road Cycling Club event not too far away, our 120 strong membership have much to look forward to.

We anticipate unveiling our 2016 – 2017 kit very soon which will be a very exciting event.
