Jack Herskope Shares the Joy of His Bar-Mitzvah Simcha

Chairman of the Maccabi Victoria Sports Foundation, Ian Davis presenting Jack Herskope with a Certificate of Appreciation

We are very grateful to Jack Herskope, who recently celebrated his Bar-Mitzvah and chose to support Maccabi Victoria Sports Foundation, a decision which has raised over $7,000 in donations.

When asked why he chose to donate to Maccabi Victoria in honour of his Bar-Mitzvah, this is what Jack shared with us.

“I chose to donate to Maccabi because I think the Maccabi organisation has a very important role in our community.
I enjoy playing sport with my friends in Maccabi clubs and I hope that everyone can have the same opportunity as me, so I think Maccabi needs to be well funded.
I encourage kids having a Barmitzvah or Batmitzvah to request that their guests make a donation to Maccabi so it can continue its great work and offer sport in our lives.”

The funds raised will go to support a wide range of programs that the Foundation supports, including:

The Helen Synman Coaching Development Program which aims to ensure that the quality of coaching across Maccabi clubs continues to be enhanced and improved.

The Richard Bernstein Scholarship and Development Fund which will especially support Jewish athletes in need of financial assistance or for programs which will assist Jewish athletes in reaching their full potential.

The Club and Athlete Grants and Development Fund helps fund essential equipment, training, development programs, and other club needs.

The Future Fund which assists in the broader needs of clubs, such as development of new or enhanced club facilities.

Mazal Tov Jack and Thank You!
