James Oklander 6-2, 6-4

Robert Minc 6-7 2-6

Steve Gostin 2-6 1-6

Damon Flicker 3-6 4-6

James Oklander has been superb and can hold his head up as he played really well whilst the rest of the team struggled.
Rob Minc just does not lose in doubles  and fought hard in his singles.
Steven Gostin pulled a hamstring in the doubles but his young opponent was way too consistent .
Damon Flicker's opponent hit really hard and everything went in to round up a tough day.

- Steve Gostin

Grade 9 BLTC 4-8-60 defeated Maccabi 2-4-49

Ayden Carp/Lachie Zuker 8-9

Alan Liebowitz/Darren Seymour 6-8

Alan Liebowitz 6-7 0-6

Lachie Zuker 6-1 3-6 10-5

Ayden Carp 4-6 3-6

Darren Seymour 7-5 4-6 10-6

Today we showed the depth of our team in a very pleasing result. Going into
this contest we were 2nd playing the 3rd placed BLTC away on their home clay.courts.
Two fighting singles wins by Lachie Zuker as is now expected, and
Darren Seymour  who is returning to his form of old after a year off
headlined the team effort.
All the other results were extremely close and in the end we only needed to
win one of the two close doubles to be level with them.
Our boys  will be confident when we play BLTC  next time  we can reverse
todays result.

Grade 10

Maccabi 5-9-62 defeated Patterson Lakes 1-2-15

Daniel Goodrich/ Errol Dorfan 8-1

Joel Rabinov/ Michael Rabinovich 8-0 (Forfeit)

Joel Rabinov 6-1, 6-2

Daniel Goodrich 6-0, 6-0

Errol Dorfan 6-0, 6-0 (Forfeit)

Michael Rabinovich 4-6, 6-4,8-10

At home against Patterson Lakes (who only had 3 players, all fill ins),we decided on Daniel and Errol to play doubles along with Michael to play his singles.
Daniel and Errol did what they had to do in an 8-1 performance.
Michael played in by far the closest match of the day (and against what was probably the opposition's best player). Good starts in each set gave Michael a chance. However, Michael ended up losing 4-6, 6-4, 8-10 in a good performance.
Daniel did what he had to do, in a 6-0, 6-0 win.
Joel had moments where he was put under pressure, but did enough to win 6-1, 6-2 in a match that was closer than the scoreline suggested.
Overall: Good to be back on the winners list. However its our 2nd home match, with both times the opponents only having 3 players (and at least 1 player running 20 minutes late). To be honest, its not good enough. I might have to ring the opposition the day before if this keeps up. As for the tennis itself: was good to see Michael playing at a good level- his opponent had a massive serve and made Michael have to think about the match. Anyway, onto next week.
