Steinberg/Steinberg 2-6 6-7
Kleytman/Kleytman 4-6 1-6

Played the top team who have only LOST one rubber all season !!!!!!! They
have now still only lost one rubber.
They are easily a top section 4 or a reasonable section 3 team.
To add insult to injury today they used a number 1 who last week made the
third round of the Booroondara AMT money tournament. He is ranked in top
1000 in Australia.
I guess the one and only  highlight was Warren and Dean Steinberg taking the
doubles second set to a tie break. Great result.

Section 9 Maccabi 2 rubbers, 3 sets, 47 games defeated by St. Anthony's 4 rubbers, 6 sets, 55 games
Ben Pollak 7-8
Joel Rabinov 6-8
Yakov Eydlish 8-2
Jack Stock 8-7
Joel/ Yakov 7-5, 1-6, 6-7
Ben/ Jack 2-6, 2-6

On a near perfect summer's day (humidity only issue) Joel and Yakov hit the St. Anthony's mod- grass courts (thanks for Yakov for being our first emergency of the season).
Yakov did as he pleased in an 8-2 win that unfortunately for us, was as easy as it would get for the day.
Joel meanwhile was spooked, playing against a flat hitter and someone with a great backhand (the exact opposite of all of his recent opponents). Despite this (and having adjust tactics) Joel still led 6-5, before a fade out in the final 3 games for 6-8.
Jack was all on serve at 4all, before his opponent managed a few breaks of serve. Jack being the fighter that he is kept breaking (and for the tiebreak) before winning the tiebreak 7-4.
Ben played in a match full of momentum: down 1-3, up for 5-3. Unfortunately he lost in a tiebreak.
We went with Joel and Yakov, Ben and Jack as doubles pairs.
Ben and Jack unfortunately had a match to forget (2-6, 2-6).
Joel and Yakov started slowly (0-3) before finding their form to take the opening set 7-5. Unfortunately both dropped serve to start the 2nd set having had 40-15 on serve. A 0-4 deficit meant that the set was pretty much done as they ended up losing the set 1-6, then a super tie-break (as the day was done) all going to the opposition.
Overall: A frustrating day for all of us. We all had things we could have done better. Think we all found something today that we can work on.

Natalie- played against another young emergency,  there was a lot of good long rallies but Natalie took the important point and got another win for the team.

Mor+ Natalie- easy doubles win very good communication , rallies and fun.
Lauren+ Bianca- played a ripper match ! Came down from a set down to win in a very stressful 3rd set tiebreaker. Played some amazing rallies!
