The 2020 Maccabi Tennis Club and Victorian Jewish Tennis Championships were played over the weekend.  Although it has been a very different year, many Jewish tennis players took to the court to take part in the annual tournament.

Following a tough year, the club championships were held later than normal (in mid to late December). This brought close to ideal conditions in which to play tennis.

First time winners emerged in the singles events, with Max Needleman winning his first Open Singles title in a classic final against two-time former champion Joel Fredman (7-6, 6-7, 6-2).

Dean Steinberg went one step further than last year, winning his first Men's B Singles title against Matias Brener (7-5, 6-4) without dropping a set.  Both players have joined Maccabi in the past year.

Joel Fredman and Rob Minc were able to defend their doubles title from last year in a round robin format (played with 4 doubles pairings).

The junior events were also played at the same time.  In the boys 18 and under singles final, Lachie Zuker defeated Charlie Landau 6-2 6-2.

The Tournament Committee consisted of Joel Rabinov, Paul Silberscher and Gaby Shapiro.
