Four Teams in Finals Action as Season Heats Up

Maccabi's top team, playing in Section 2, finished on top of the ladder with impressive performances from Arthur Kaganovitch, Max Needleman, Joey Pat, Jess Flicker, Matt Lincoln and Steven Gostin.  They will play against MCC Glen Iris with a double chance.  The winner will advance directly to the Grand Final on March 24.

Maccabi's women's team featuring Themis Antony, captain Lauren Yarrow, Yael Gigi, Emma Kaye and Sharon Duieb, playing in Section 3, also finished on top of the ladder.  They will play in a semi final against Royal South Yarra, hoping to secure a Grand Final berth.

The Section 9 side, captained by Joel Rabinov, face off against MCC Glen Iris on Saturday in their semi final.  The Maccabi team, which also includes Daniel Goodrich, Jordan Jaffe, Jordan Davis, Ben Pollak and Ron Kotev, will be looking to continue their strong season, in which they were also the top team.

Meanwhile, the Maccabi mixed doubles team, finished 3rd and will play against BLTC on Saturday in a sudden death match.  Sara Nagar, Sam Strunin, Anat Vernik, Natalee Nahoom, Gabi Bergman, Dave Gelbart and Simon Duieb have all contributed to the team this season.


Semi finals (March 3 2018 at 1pm):


Section 2 MEN: MACCABI (1st) v MCC Glen Iris (2nd) at Beaumaris Lawn Tennis Club.

Section 3 WOMEN: MACCABI (1st) v Royal South Yarra (2nd) at Caulfield Recreation Tennis Club.

Section 9 MEN: MACCABI (1st) v MCC Glen Iris (2nd) at Lauriston Tennis Club.

Section 5 MIXED: MACCABI (3rd) v Beaumaris at Kings Park Tennis Club.
