Assaf Drori has claimed his second Victorian Jewish Tennis Championship singles title after an epic 6-3 6-7 6-3 victory over close friend and teammate Asaf Nagar. Drori, a winner in 2010, prevailed in a high-quality, energy-sapping contest that lasted two and a half hours. The win capped off a successful tournament for classy lefthander Drori, who also went on to win the Men's Doubles and Mixed Doubles titles. The finals concluded a successful Maccabi Tennis Club Championships, with several young talents showcasing their future potential. Played over three weekends in ideal weather conditions, the Championships provided entertainment and enjoyment for all.

Tournament Director Marcus Frajman acknowledged the support from the Tournament and Club Committees: 'This is the biggest event in the calendar for our Club and it was fantastic to see such a great turnout and enthusiastic player involvement. We are already looking forward to next year and hope to see even more players taking part. It's a great way to support the Club and play with other Jewish tennis players. Events like these strengthen Maccabi Tennis and build a sense of community and Maccabi team spirit.'

In other results, Lauren Yarrow battled against a determined Yael Gigi, before winning 6-3 6-0 in the Women's Singles.

Impressive 14-year-old Arthur Kaganovitch was too strong for fellow youngster Jamie Muscatel, triumphing 6-2 6-4 in the Men's B Singles event. Kaganovitch and Muscatel are two leading members of the next generation emerging amongst the Club's playing ranks.

Drori teamed up with Naveh Dvir Ovadia to record a 6-4 6-2 victory over Steven Gostin and Jarred Krowitz in the Men's Doubles. Drori later partnered Elissa Joachim and successfully defended their Mixed Doubles title from last year, overcoming Jeff Klyne and Lauren Yarrow 6-4 6-3.

Father-and-son team Clive and Joel Fredman had an entertaining tussle in the Senior Men's Doubles event, edging out Rob Schattner and Adam Rapoport 7-5 7-6.

Rising star Leor Bar defeated Adam Blumberg 6-3 6-0 in the boys' 16 and under singles, while Matthew Lincoln won against Jordan Jaffe by the same scoreline in the boys' 13 and under singles. Moshe Wajsbort was too strong for Teegan Slomoi and Gabi Lotzoff in the 13 and under Plate round-robin finals.

In the final event, to be played on September 21, Josh Duieb and Brad Lowe will battle out the boys' 13 and under doubles event with Jason Slomoi and Noah Winik.
