Grade 2 Juggernaut rolls on

Posted: 19-May-2011 by Tennis

Grade 2 Section 2 Won 4-8-54 won 0-1-25. Paul Arber, Asaf Nagar, Luke Goldberg and Joshua katz obliterated the opposition. On top of the ladder! The only hard part of the afternoon for them is choosing between the scones or the toasted cheese sandwiches the club provides.

Grade 4 section 3- Lost 3-6-48 lost 1-3-39. Simon Goldberg, Alon Karp, Joel Fredman and Captain Steve Gostin lost in another close one and need a win to stay in the top four. Joel and Steve took the only winning rubber 7-6 4-6 6-4 which summarised what was a difficult day.

Grade 5 Section 3 Lost 1-2-24 lost 3-6-43 Tim Hall, Daniel Sneider, Jonathon Roseman and Luke Miller. Played again without their number 1 and 2 but put up a fight. Well done to Tim and Jonathon winning a rubber 6-3 6-4. Very solid effort by Daniel and Luke winning 12 games. Luke was promoted and at 15 showed great skill and potential!

Grade 7 Section2 Won 4-8-60 won 0-3-41. David Kaplan, David Wolff, Captain Errol Dorfan and Robert Steinhardt pulled off a great win finishing early Sunday morning(not quite). They are in the four and doing the club proud. The two Davids playing together played in 60 games which must be a club record! They played six sets and know each other a lot more than they did at the start of the year!. Errol & Robert were as solid as the rock of Gibraltar.

Grade 8 Section 1 Lost 0-0-14 lost 4-8-48 . Ron & Zvi Schweitzer, Simon Rubinstein and Nathan Tsivlin. Had a demoralising defeat but these guys are the pluckiest in the club. They want to organise some doubles practice and want to train. This year is strengthening these quality guys!

Grade 11 Section 1 Lost 2-4-33 lost 2-4-36. Adam Needleman, Steven Kleytman, Daniel Henquin and Roman Maevsky. We took our passport, malaria tablets and enjoyed a police escort to Melton. Played in a gale and were subject to racist abuse that really unsettled Daniel and Roman. We were top against the 5th team and now realise how tough we will have to get to remain in the top 4. This steeled our resolve and all 6 players in the team have made a vow to succeed!

Grade 11 Section 2 Lost 1-3-39 lost 3-6-46. Aaron Kleytman, Jamie Muscatel, Max Needleman & Michael Kocherginsky. Another great effort by the kids. A very even effort by all four boys taking it to the wire and a 5pm finish. Improving each week.

Seniors Grade 5 Lost 2-4-42 lost 2-5-49 Team of Paul Kovacs, Sam Strunin, Robert Schattner and John Malina had a long battle all afternoon. Both pairs won a rubber. There is nothing separating the 3rd and the seventh team on the ladder. Each game is important as the competition is so even
