All players that attend and use the courts must register their attendance (name, phone number, email address) using the below QR code, which is also displayed at the entrance to the Club.  The registration page can also be accessed here: https://visitsafe.at/maccabitennisclub

21 OCTOBER 2020

Following yesterday's announcement from Tennis Victoria, coaching and social play can now resume.  The MTC Committee have completed the Tennis Victoria Return to Play checklist, devised a court usage plan and note the following important points to members:

  • The clubhouse is off limits and closed.  The only exception to this is the toilets, which may be accessed only during coaching times

  • All players that attend and use the courts must register their attendance (name, phone number, email address) using the below QR code, which is also displayed at the entrance to the Club.  The registration page can also be accessed here: https://visitsafe.at/maccabitennisclub

  • Due to building works, access to and from the courts is via the gate at Court 4

  • There is a maximum number of 10 persons permitted at the facility at any time

  • Of the 10 members of the public permitted, each grouping of people on one court - singles or doubles - must come from no more than 2 households.

AUGUST 4

In accordance with Tennis Victoria's announcement on August 3 and with Victoria being in an officially declared state of disaster, all tennis clubs in the Melbourne metropolitan area, including Maccabi Tennis Club, are closed until further notice.  This means that there will be no tennis activity whatsoever.

MAY 17

In coordination with the State Government, Tennis Australia, Tennis Victoria and Glen Eira Council, the Maccabi Tennis Club is now open for use by members, subject to strict conditions (see below).  Coaching run by Trademark Tennis has also recommenced.  Junior and senior competition is not allowed until further notice by Tennis Victoria.

*** It is important that any person wishing to use the Club courts read the information below ***

Summary

A return to tennis at Maccabi Tennis Club for members and coaching students is permitted under these strict conditions:

  • Everyone that enters the courts must email their details (name, phone number, date and time of attendance) to tennis.VIC@maccabi.com.au
  • Every person must keep their distance (at least 1.5 metres apart)
  • Small groups of no more than 10 people (maximum 6 people per court)
  • In larger venues, multiple small groups are permitted but common sense should be used to ensure groups of players are spaced out across the venue
  • Singles or doubles is permitted
  • Small group coaching. Consider that the parent/guardian of younger children may want to have line of sight of activity, in line with the Victorian Childsafe Standards.
  • Clubhouses/rooms to remain closed.
  • Toilets can be made available as long as hygiene protocols can be followed
  • The clubhouse will only be open for the purpose of using the toilets when coaching activities are taking place
  • No gatherings in the clubhouse
  • Social distancing must be practised at all times
