Posted: 21-Mar-2019 by Maccabi VIC

It was overwhelming to see how far we reach into the community and how we are so valued.
Thank you to everyone who helped out on the day at the marquee and a special shout out and thank you to the Lawn Bowls, Basketball, Walking Football/Futsal, Tennis and Cricket Clubs for running wonderful sports activities for the community on the day.
A great team effort.
Thank you to Sam Strunin for designing and organising the Maccabi branded marquee.

In One Voice was an amazing event, but not only because of the yummy food and the great music performances. There were some fantastic sport activities running at the Sholem Aleichem College outdoor court.

We kicked-off with a Lawn Bowls session, conducted by Gary Lasky, President of the Maccabi Lawn Bowls club. Next was a very popular Basketball session with ball handling and shooting drills, carried out by Ashley and Emily Szwinder (coaches of the Maccabi Basketball club). Afterwards there was “kicking time”: Walking Football games on one side of the court (organised by Kevin Milstein, president of Maccabi FC Caulfield) and Futsal skills on the other side of the court (run by Martin Jona, Maccabi Futsal coach). From 3 PM children from all ages enjoyed some fun Tennis activities conducted by Mor Dahan, Marcus Frajman and Joel Rabinov from the Maccabi Tennis Club. Last but not least was a Cricket session performed by Lal Jayasinghe, Director of Coaching at the Maccabi Cricket Club. Coaches and players had a great time. Now get ready for more sport activities in the Yom Ha’atzmaut event!!.

There was great energy on the court and a really strongMaccabi feel from 7 year old little strikers through to 70+ year old walking soccer players. It was a positive exercise for the clubs with lots of interest from parents and potential players.

Now get ready for more sport activities in the Yom Ha’atzmaut event!!
