Maccabi Cycling Club Awards Honourary Membership to Riley Hart

Another wounderful announcement was the awarding to Riley Hart as an Honorary Member of the Maccabi Cycling Club. His achievements over the years speaks for themselves and we are honoured to have Riley associated with the club. He is not only an inspiration to our Young Guns but all our members and the wider community. Good luck for 2017 Riley we are behind you!

Riley and his three Victorian teammates not only won the Under-19 men’s team pursuit final at the 2017 National Track Cycling Championships earlier this year, but broke the Australian record while doing so.

Riley recently won the Maccabi Victoria Outstanding Jewish Junior Sportman award for 2016.

Some new faces on the committee after the AGM last night with a new President – John Gould and a new Treasurer – Simon Obel.

I am very proud of where the club and the committees efforts over the last year and know that the future of the club is in good hands!

A new Senior Coach Gerard Donnelly has been appointed for the Senior’s Program. This is a very exciting initiative that will allow members to train with a senior coach who a great credentials as well as receiving a personalised coaching program. Costs are $200 a term which also includes the personal coaching valued at $350. That is $550 worth of value for only $200!

NEW Club Training Program - Maccabi Senior Rockets

Maccabi Cycling has run a successful junior development program 'The Young Guns' for a number of years. This has been provided for a cost of $200 per term and has been subsidized by the club.
 
We have now developed a senior version of the program, the Maccabi Senior Rockets. This will be presented by our new senior coach Gerard Donnelly of Trivelo Coaching.
 
Gerard comes to us highly qualified with a degree in Education majoring in Exercise Physiology. He coaches NRS (National Road Series) riders both male and female, and has coached Triathletes to represent Australia at Kona. As an athlete he has won National titles in Triathlon, Duathlon, Competed at the Commonwealth games and as an elite cyclist in Road Racing and Crits.  
 
The adult program will again be subsidized by the club and provided at a cost of  $200 per term for each member.  This involves weekly sessions on spin bikes with the coach guiding and motivating

In addition to this, the club will fully subsidize a level 1 personal coaching program at Trivelo Coaching for each participant for the first 2 terms.
This involves each rider outlining their goals, Trivelo writing a detailed weekly program and monitoring the rider’s progress and providing regular feedback and guidance
This is valued at about $350 per term and is individually tailored and monitored for each rider’s goals.
 
The MSR Program will be held on Tuesday evenings at 7.00PM at Genesis Gym in Caulfield. Commencing on May 2nd
