Congratulations Ori

Great news and congratulations to 11 year old club athlete Ori Drabkin who competed last weekend in the National School Sport Australia track and field championships in Sydney, in the multi class category (para athlete) – his dad just sent me his fantastic results:

800m: 2nd with a new PB and an SSA record of 3:51.51

200m: 2nd with a PB

Long jump: 4th with a PB

100m: 1st with a PB of 20.58

Obviously happy with the results, but even happier that Ori's hard work at training (with your wonderful team) has borne fruit for him.

And thanks to those club members/friends who supported Ori’s efforts by buying raffle tickets.

City to Sea

The City2Sea was  run last Sunday with club Runners Debbie Sandler, Sarah Kremer and Sue Levin all successfully completing the 15K course, whilst Maccabiah Games selected athlete Michelle Levy placed 6th in the 40-49 age group competition.

Shield Competition

Shield competition at Casey recently was HOT! There were a number of Olympians and current Australian champions running around including young sprint sensation Jack Hale from Tasmania and Tamsyn Lewis-Mannou. Club athlete Liam Eliau got in amongst them to run a 12.27sec into a stiff wind in the 100m, whilst others to fly the flag included Piper Montag and Myer Vorchheimer who both jumped long and ran the 100m sprints.

Next Shield competition will be at Frankston, Program 1 starting at 1.00pm.

Don’t forget to pre-register by Wednesday on the Athletics Victoria web site.
