Mazal Tov Sam!

Over 200 people from across the Jewish community, representing a wide range of affiliates of the Jewish Community Council of Victoria (JCCV), gathered on Wednesday night for the JCCV 2016 Community Recognition Awards at the Glen Eira Town Hall.

The Awards were presented by Attorney General, the Hon Martin Pakula MP.

Congratulations to Sam Parasol OAM who was awarded the 2016 JCCV Volunteer Award for Maccabi Victoria.  As Sam is currently traveling overseas, his son David, received the award on his behalf, proudly watched on by his two other sons, Daniel and Max Michael.

Sam Parasol OAM has made a significant contribution to the Maccabi organisation both as an athlete and a dedicated Administrator for over 50 years.

His awarded Life memberships of Maccabi Australia, Maccabi Victoria and the Table Tennis Club are testament and most deserved recognition of his outstanding achievements.

Sam was an instrumental member of the Victoria Maccabi Board  before progressing into the Vice President role and again onto the President of Maccabi Victoria position from  1996  to 2000. During this time, Sam introduced the Victoria Maccabi Yearbook, later known as the Almanac, which proved to be an invaluable record of the organisation’s ongoing history as well as source of sustainability of Maccabi Victoria.

Sam has also been a Team Manager at 4 Carnivals, a member of the Maccabi Australia Council and an Australian delegate to Maccabi World Union.

Sam is the current Chairman of the Maccabi Victoria Hall of Fame.
