Golf Club Match Play and Kleid Gordon Event Winners Announced

Posted: 17-Nov-2016 by Golf

Peter Janovic goes back to back in Maccabi Victoria  Match-play event

In a magnificent final played at Cranbourne, Peter Janovic the defending champion defeated Wayne Shub on the 19th hole. With Peter off 12 and Wayne off 14 there was not much in it all the way through.

Peter led from the 1st hole but Wayne never allowed him to get away and went to the 18th 1 down. Needing to win the hole Wane found himself 210m out from the green and taking his 3 wood, hit the shot of the day to land it on the green and 2 putt to take the game to the 19th. Calm as ever Peter parred the par 5 1st to take the match.

Speaking afterwards Wayne commented "That was the toughest game of golf I have ever had. I can honestly say there was nothing left in the tank!"

Congratulation Peter, 64 golfers entered and once again you are the champion.
