Maccabi Profile on Board Member Sam Strunin

Sam has joined the board of Maccabi Victoria, with a brief to oversee the organisation's marketing/branding portfolio.

Sam is a proven brand visionary and thought leader who comes to Maccabi after holding board positions at two other national NGO’s as well as the Maccabi Victoria Tennis Club. Sam has been involved with Maccabi for more than 36 years, having played for the hockey, tennis and football clubs as a junior and senior. He Is married to Lisa and together they have two sons Joshua and Jarrod, both keen sportsmen and active Maccabi members.

During his twenty plus-years working in Marketing/Advertising, Sam has been the architect of numerous, print, TV, digital and social media campaigns for some of Australia’s leading brands. Sam specialises in brand management for companies operating in the Entertainment, Fashion, Beauty and Jewellery Industries. He has worked with local, national and international brands including Red Cross, Trevor Barker Foundation, Adidas, Dimmeys, Loreal, BMG Records, Fox FM and many others.

"I was honoured to accept an invitation from Joe Dorfman to join the Maccabi Victoria board as brand/marketing manager. I am excited to be a part of this historical organisation celebrating it’s 90th year and I accepted the role because I think I can make a difference.  I believe that I bring a deep knowledge of media, marketing, advertising and digital transformation to our board. For more than 90 years the Maccabi brand has maintained an image that focuses on a friendly, social, competitive and professional environment. It’s very satisfying to me to be protecting a brand I truly believe in - watching it grow as more and more people form our community join the Maccabi family. We have some big things planned as part of the 90th year celebration program, so please …..WATCH THIS SPACE….”

As the brand/marketing portfolio manager, Sam will be responsible for overseeing Maccabi Victoria’s branding as well as the 90th Year Celebration brand communications and integrated marketing efforts Australia wide. “I intend to drive the organisation's positioning, marketing, public relations, social media, field marketing, branding and identity programs to ensure strong connections with our community and members.”

Sam believes that first impressions can last a lifetime. Brand experience is not limited to just your product or service. Every contact with your brand counts. Sam says - “In a nutshell, it’s my role to ensure that the appearance and integrity of the Maccabi brand is the best it can possibly be.”
