North Caulfield’s impressive preseason campaign continued to gain momentum on Sunday when it defeated Albert Park SC 1-0 in the FFA CUP.

Despite early domination from Maccabi and constant peppering of the Albert Park goal, the home side could not find that elusive goal.

However a little bit of individual brilliance was all it took from striker Oran Harel just before half time to give Maccabi a well-earned victory.

Daniel Distiller, Josh Braver and Harel were the shining lights for Maccabi.

Alex Godler, Saul Rosenheim and Josh Lerner made their senior team debuts and played important roles in a win that propels Maccabi to the 3rd round of the National Cup competition.

North Caulfield’s preseason has been enjoying record numbers with over 80 players attending training sessions.

“There is a good feeling around the club this season. We have a nice balance of experienced players, youth and quality goalkeepers. Moral is high and there’s a great synergy with the boys both on and off the park.” said Andrew Freund, Director Of Football.

Maccabi meets Sandringham SC for a 7.00pm kick-off on Sunday 8 March at Kingston Heath Soccer Complex.
