Maccabiah 2017 General Team Manager Appointed

Maccabi Australia is delighted to announce that Nikki Burger has been appointed General Team Manager for the 2017 Maccabiah Games. Nikki has been involved with sports management for over 20 years, as well as being a member of numerous Australian Maccabiah teams as both a Gold Medal winning athlete and a manager.

MAI President Mr Barry Smorgon OAM stated that “MAI is delighted to have such an experienced manager as Nikki on board. She compliments the strong leadership team that has been charged with the responsibility of managing the 2017 Maccabiah

Nikki, together with Head of Delegation Tom York OAM and MAI Chair of International Sport, Mikki Silverman makes up the core of the Maccabiah upper management team, and we could not be more thrilled with the calibre of this group.”

Through her professional career Nikki has worked with numerous high level sport organisations, including the AFL and Olympic Winter and counts this new role as one of her most exciting opportunities yet. Although she has been to Maccabiah three times before she is delighted with the opportunity to be involved with the 2017 Games at such a high level of management and is very much looking forward to working on such an important Jewish event. Nikki will begin the role in earnest in April, although some work has already commenced. Nominations for future roles will be available soon. The Games are set to take place in Israel from July 14, 2017.
