Michael Goulburn

As we celebrate the 90th year of Maccabi, we share this birthday milestone with  Maccabi Club Stalwart Michael Goulburn who recently celebrated his 90th birthday with family and friends in Sydney.

In honour  of his milestone birthday all his nieces and nephews in Australia and Israel made a donation to Maccabi Ajax Cricket Club.

For over 70 years, Michael has either participated, managed or been President for different Jewish sporting clubs  in W.A, Victoria, N.S.W and Israel.

He was one of 3 people responsible for purchasing the Maccabi Grounds in Perth, which is now the home of Maccabi W.A.

We are proud to share this 90th year celebration with such a commited and inspiring Maccabi Member.

Barry Kave

Barry has been a constant in the Australian sporting community for half a century and his commitment to the Maccabi Ajax Cricket Club throughout has been unparalleled.

Since 1965 Barry Kave has been an integral part of the Maccabi Ajax Cricket Club both on and off the field.

On the field he holds the record for the third highest wicket taker in the club's history and winner of many bowling trophies as well as the prestigious Ray Saffer "Cricketer of the Year" Award.

Off the field Barry has been on the committee for decades with roles including Chairman, Vice-president, Secretary and Chairman of Selectors and Club statistician.

THE AJAX Maccabi Cricket Club will honor two of its stalwarts at an upcoming event, with celebrations for Barry Kave’s legendary 50th playing season helping raise funds for ex-club president Paul Fink to assist in his recovery from a severe stroke last year.
