Another Superb Mini Roos Gala Day

Posted: 19-Sep-2017 by Football (Soccer) Junior

Judging by the sea of happy faces at Caulfield Park on Sunday, the Reagan Milstein Foundation and Football Star Academy gala day was a resounding success. The event was jointly organised by RMF and FSA and hosted at the grounds of North Caulfield Maccabi JFC. The morning was indeed a football bonanza as avid players from around the city kitted up and joined in the fun.

Despite the round robin tournament being a friendly, the competitive spirit was not lost as junior teams from Glen Eira, Berwick, East Bentleigh, Caulfield, Bentleigh and North Caulfield strutted their stuff in a series of matchups throughout the morning.

Proud parents could be seen from the sideline cheering their team on as the roar of a goal was routinely heard throughout the park, while the smell of freshly cooked sausages off the pitch was a more than adequate incentive for the battle-hardened players to give it their all in the games themselves.

With both boys’ teams and girls’ teams competing, the event was a huge success and caps off another positive year for football both on and off the field, with donations from the day going towards the Reagan Milstein Foundation – providing a platform for less fortunate children in countries such as Tonga, Vanuatu and the Philippines to pursue their football dreams through a variety of initiatives, including recycling donated football boots.
