GIRLS PLAY WITH HEART

After the success of the curtain raiser game earlier this year, Caulfield Park was transformed into a sea of red and white on Tuesday afternoon as the “Girls with Heart” program - run by the Reagan Milstein Foundation in conjunction with Melbourne Heart FC - were hosted by North Caulfield Maccabi JFC in what the youths’ first training session of the year.

Girls aged 13-17 completed short drills with representatives from the club before taking part in several small sided games as they were presented with the opportunity to pick up some valuable tips from some pros.

The program aims to foster and strengthen the connections that aspiring young girls gain from playing football and each year girls from the program are invited to play in the annual Harmony Day A-League game, played at AAMI Park as a curtain-raiser for one of Melbourne Heart’s season games.

Smiles could be seen from ear to ear as the girls had fun and worked on basic skills such as dribbling, juggling, and passing in a match-day environment as they busily prepared for the big game next season year.

With one eye on a spot in the team to play at AAMI Park, the girls fought hard and played to their best ability whilst also learning areas in which they could improve.
The day was a huge success as the girls enjoyed mixing it with the best and were presented with what was an unforgettable opportunity.
