Matt Sherwin on a roll at Victorian Open Jewish cycling Championships

Maccabi Cyclist, Matt Sherwin won the Victorian Open Jewish cycling Championships in a strong field at Sandown racecourse in hot and windy conditions.

He has since taken that good form to win the A Grade Masters Criterium weekly race at Casey Fields 2 weeks in a row. His first win came about by a bold break away where he rode away from the pack solo, and averaged 52 Km per hour for a lap.

In the Open, the place getters were – second Adam Rappaport and third Jonathan Bell.

Age groups of the Championships were contested with the following results 

U10             Zac Robinson
U17             Gideon Segal
18-29         Brandon Glasser
30-39         Matt Sherwin
40-49         Adam Rappaport
50-59         Anton Hermann
60-69         John Gould
70+             Nathan Chizic.

Regular club rides continue, with the most popular being Sunday mornings, meeting at Kooyong and north roads at 7.30am
