Take a Step towards Good Health

Posted: 28-Jan-2016 by All Abilities

Maccabi All Abilities is partnering with Jewish Care Victoria to run an exciting new health promotion program beginning in March this year. The Steps to Good Health program will offer participants the opportunity to participate in a range of activities designed to help improve their health and wellbeing. Activities include a walking group, healthy eating classes, fitness sessions and healthy relationship and sexuality educational workshops.

The Steps to Good Health program will be a membership-based initiative, and participants will have access to numerous sessions over the course of the program - in each different health promotion area. This program will give members an opportunity to tailor attendance to their needs and won’t impact on their other important day-to-day commitments.

As the program is all about health and fitness, we would love to see participants attend as many of the planned activities as possible. This will not only have a positive impact on participants’ health, but also increase their chances of winning some great prizes. In fact, the more one participates, the more chances there are to win. Each member will have a card that tracks the activities they have attended. By reaching certain milestones, participants boost their chances of winning.

The program will be run in a fun and interactive manner, with fitness testing, opportunities to try new activities and other fun initiatives to keep participants motivated. The activities will be held at The Manders Villas on Glen Eira Road and within the community, which makes Steps to Good Health a very accessible program.

The total cost of a Steps to Good Health membership is $50, which is fantastic value considering the variety of different programs available. Remember - participants can attend as many sessions as they wish, it’s just like joining a gym but much better value!

Information sessions about the program will be held in late January/early February 2016, with the program running from March to June. We encourage everyone to attend these information sessions to find out more about this valuable initiative.
