Posted: 06-Feb-2015 by All Abilities

Dear All,

It is with great pleasure that I would like to invite you to participate in Jewish Care’s walking group for carers of children and adults with special needs.

What are the benefits of regular physical activity?

  • Reduce your risk of heart disease and stroke
  • Manage weight, blood pressure and blood cholesterol
  • Prevent and control diabetes
  • Reduce your risk of developing some cancers
  • Help you feel stronger and more energetic
  • Improve your overall quality and enjoyment of life

Why Walking?

  • is easy, free and accessible to just about everyone
  • needs no expensive equipment or training
  • has low impact on joints
  • can be done almost anywhere at any time
  • is good for the environment
  • can save you money.

Walking in groups can:

  • provide extra incentive and motivation
  • be social – a good way to meet new people and make friends
  • be safer
  • be more fun.

The Walking group will start on Wednesday the 11th of February and the last day will be on Wednesday the 18th of March.

Where: Princess Park, we will meet in the corner of Hawthorn Rd and Maple St, Caulfield South.

Time: 9:30am. We will walk for 45 minutes and then we will have coffee at Glicks.

Please RSVP by Friday the 6th of February.

Could you please complete the attached Enrollment form and bring it to our first walk.

I am looking forward to see you all.

Warm Regards,

Judith (jbauerberg@jewishcare.org.au)
