Basketball sides reveal captains for Pan-Am Games

Posted: 05-Jul-2019 by PanAm Games 2019

Australia’s three basketball sides for the Maccabi Pan-American Games have officially named their captains for the tournament.

During their first training sessions since touching down in Mexico City, the junior, youth and open teams all formally announced their leaders.

Point guard DK Morley will skipper the junior side and already has his eyes firmly on bringing home a medal in his first international experience for Maccabi. The young gun will be cheered on by his family throughout the competition – including his grandfather who’s come all the way from Poland!

Meanwhile, the youth side were forced to make an adjustment to their leadership group just weeks out from touching down in Mexico after losing co-captain Guy Sidelman to injury. In his place, Harry Carp has been handed co-captaincy duties alongside Beck Rosen.

Leadership appears to run in the veins of the Carp family, with his father – masters swimmer Barry - this week named flagbearer and team captain for the entire Pan-American Games squad!

Finally, the open men’s outfit have appointed Hudson De Bortoli and Jarred Kieser as co-captains.

Congratulations all!
