Maccabi race report 9 October 2016

by Alan Kaplan

Thanks to all who turned up for a great race.
The biggest turnout in over 2 years has seen 28 adults competing in the sprint distance and 9 kids in various distances.
For all those who receive the email you missed a great event with superb weather and competition and we urge you to make an effort to turn up next triathlon on the 6th November.
The organisers promise to be ready for the avalanche with adequate timing chips and markers on the course.

Michael Rifkin took out the swim as usual in a brilliant time of 11.01 minutes followed by our youngest emerging talent Leo Rubinstein and Maccabi Israel bound Jordan Cohen.

Michael held his lead into the run after a solid ride, closely followed by Craig Pager who had the fastest ride of 34min(36km/hr ave). Alan Kaplan, Jordan Cohen and Alan Rubinstein followed them.

Craig Pager soon caught Michael Rifkin and held his lead until the end with a superb 17.50 min run.
Michael Rifkin held onto 2nd place with Alan Kaplan taking out 3rd.
A fantastic run by Jonathan Nesher has seen him move up into 6th place in his first triathlon, great effort.

Good effort by our two women who completed the sprint distance, Suzy Gellert and Laura Madeisky.

Max Kidman, Riley Pager, Jasmine Barea, Braydon Bloch and Dena Rubinstein won the shorter races in their respective categories.

Once again thanks to all and lets get a bigger turnout next event.
