Report by Deb Shapira

On a typical Sydney January hot humid day we had a really good turn out of 18 adults and 13 juniors participating despite it being the end of the school holidays and a long weekend to boot. In the senior ranks we welcomed new member and first time attendee, Suzy Cohen, who completed her first ever triathlon and in the juniors we welcomed first timers Devan Bloch and Oscar Falvey who also both finished their first ever triathlon. Mazal tov to all three. It was also a welcome return from 4 club stalwarts after a prolonged absence to Norman Abel, Brett Yudelman, David Taylor and Michael Besser. Also we welcomed back the Amoils boys.

In the men's open race Alan Kaplan had to chase down fast swimmers Norman and Alan Rubinstein to post the quickest bike and run of the day to finish in first place with Norman and Alan R finishing in second and third place  respectively. In the women's race Lynne Berson showed her current race fitness to win from a gutsy showing from first timer Suzy.

The short boys' race was won by Devan Bloch from the other first timer Oscar Falvey. Devan did very well despite a minor spill on the bike to come home strong. The short girls' race was won with a very strong performance from Mala Falvey. In the middle boys' race Leo Rubinstein won despite a tight tussle from Natan Cohen while the middle girls' race was won with a strong showing by Dena Rubinstein. Adam Amoils won the Enticer distance.

The photos above are dedicated to the wonderful juniors who came. To see more photos of the day please go to the club Facebook page.
