Maccabi Masters Sportswoman of the Year

Daniella Goodridge - Swimming

Daniella swam at National level as a teenager in South Africa, though she missed selection for the 1993 Maccabiah. She achieved several personal goals by qualifying for and eventually winning gold at the 2013 Maccabiah. Work and family commitments filled the next 3 years until Daniella began training again for the 2017 Maccabiah... with different goals this time. All she wanted from the Games was to participate and be present for our daughter, Gabi who debuted as a Junior swimmer. Despite a limited preparation, Daniella excelled in lead-up meets in Australia (State and Nationals) and then surprised even herself by once again winning Maccabiah gold in the 50m Freestyle, silver in the 100m Freestyle and bronze in the 50m Backstroke.

She has been instrumental in resurrecting the NSW women’s golf again. Arranged the women’s day in August with over 30 ladies and also arranged about 16 ladies to take part in that NSW Maccabi golf day. She has scored 3 hole in ones. One of which occurred at Maccabiah games and she placed first in the ladies Maccabi cup to name a few of her achievements.
