Maccabi Open Sportswoman of the Year


Ariella Levy - Swimming

Ariella and her family have lived in Singapore and Hong Kong for the last 6+ years and she competed at the 19th Maccabiah in 2013 representing Hong Kong. Over the last 4 years she has trained with the Maccabi team in Sydney when here with family and with the intention of representing Australia at the 20th Maccabiah. She was the best performing Open Women's swimmer for Australia at the Games, having made finals in both the 100m and 200m Breaststroke. She then backed it up with her gold medal performance in the Open Womens 1.5km Open Water Race.

After the Maccabiah, Ariella's family returned to Australia and she began competing for Maccabi in local events. Ariella had an outstanding meet at the 2017 NSW State Age Championships where she placed 4th in finals for both the 100m and 200m Breaststroke in the 17-18yrs age division.
