Introducing Maccabi Northside Football Club
Posted: 02-Feb-2012 by Maccabi NSW
As Maccabi NSW continues to embrace sport on both sides of the bridge, we have some exciting news from our friends at Monash – who will be known from now on as the Maccabi Northside Football Club.
The name change came at the club’s recent AGM, where the club decided it will also bring in new uniforms, adopt a new website and attract new sponsors as part of ushering in the new era.
Club president Ray Kellerman told Maccabi News:
“We are very excited to now have the endorsement of the members to become a fully fledged Maccabi football club in the North.
“It is vital for the sustainability and support of the Club that our association with Maccabi become stronger.
"This association will encourage our Club members to participate in the many other Jewish sporting and community activities offered by Maccabi and lead to a more vibrant and active Jewish community on the North Shore”.
Maccabi NSW president Max Futeran added: "Maccabi NSW continues to demonstrate its commitment to the North by our support for Maccabi Northside Football Club.
"It will be a proud moment when the club's teams run on to the park brimming with confidence in their new Maccabi strips.
"We are confident that the club will grow from strength to strength under Ray and his new committee."
In a further boost to the club, their premier league squad have already begun pre-season training and have 40-50 guys trialing this week, with the final squad to be cut down shortly. They have also secured a new independent reserve team coach.
Interested players should note registration day is coming up on the February 5.
