All Abilities' Dance Project has been AWESOME!

Posted: 18-Mar-2020 by Maccabi NSW

The Maccabi Dance Project is one of the recently-introduced All Abilities programs that has proven to be a hit with participants. It was one of the first initiatves introduced by All Abilities Coordindator Shelley Diamond, who has been in the role since May 2019.

The Dance progam launched in July 2019 and has continued through each school term, with sessions often attracting up to 15 participants, both people living with a disability and others who just want to join the fun or assist in other ways.

The program is open to everyone, bringing together people of varying physical & intellectual abilities to learn & enjoy dance. The sessions are led by one of Australia's most in-demand dance teachers - former World Champion Ballroom Dancer Milana Deitch!

The program is funded by JCA The Choice Foundation, who generously provided funds to allow the program to run.

While the program is now on hiatus due to the ongoing Covid-19 situation, the aim is to resume sessions whenever health guidelines will allow. For enquiries about this initiative or anything regarding the All Abilities program, please email Shelly:
