Tapping Hands Down!

Posted: 15-Aug-2019 by Maccabi NSW

TAPPING HANDS DOWN was born in New York. It is the first program of its kind and it has tapped on Australia's Door.

Maccabi All Abilities is not only talking inclusion, we celebrate it. Participants have varied disabilities, including stroke patients, brain and spinal chord injuries, the elderly, anyone who has mobility issues or anyone wanting to tap and have fun!

The innovative program enables the choreographer to instruct her students and they perform their steps with 2 hands instead of 10 toes. This is more than just banging on a board, the students learn tap technique.

"Everything that I do with my feet, my students can do with their hands" says program coordinator Shelley.
