Wallaby Rosenblum recognised with HoF induction

Posted: 28-Nov-2017 by Maccabi NSW

The countdown to Maccabi’s quinquennial Hall of Fame induction is well and truly on, with the calendar highlight set to take place on December 12. With that in mind, it seems poignant to review the outstanding members of our community whose names will be added to an already impressive list of Maccabi NSW legends.

This week, we profile Rupert Rosenblum – the 529th man to represent the Wallabies and a former coach and player of Maccabi Rugby Club.

Capped three times for his country, Rosenblum was a prodigiously talented fly half, plying his trade for Eastern Suburbs and Sydney University during his playing days.

A student of the game, he gradually developed a style of keeping the ball in front of his forwards with judicious kicks down the sidelines. After gaining territorial advantage he would unleash the backline. Opposition teams and some representative selectors disagreed with the ploy, preferring a more open style of attack with elusive running to gain ground.

Rosenblum’s impressive rugby resume will be honoured as his name is added to an impressive list of Maccabi NSW legends. Be there on December 12 to watch on as Rosenblum is inducted into the Maccabi NSW Hall of Fame.
