Swimming success representing Maccabi

Posted: 03-Nov-2011 by Maccabi NSW

Three of our outstanding swimmers, Joshua Zwi, Gabi Katz and Robyn Grosz attended Sydney Olympic Park Aquatic club’s recent summer championships. Whilst Robyn had previously represented Maccabi at MLC Marlins earlier in October, this was Gabi and Josh’s first time representing Maccabi and we congratulate all three swimmers on achieving personal best results (PB’s). Also competing on the day was James Magnussen, who is the current world champion in 100m freestyle and it was a great opportunity for our swimmers to watch an Australian legend such as James in action.

Maccabi Amateur Swimming Club holds meets each Sunday morning at Moriah. Members enjoy swimming freestyle each week and a different form stroke on a rotating basis together with a mid or long distance event. Some members choose to use the club as a means for self improvement in a club environment, enjoying the social and fitness aspect of club swimming whereas others also enjoy competitive swimming opting to represent Maccabi at various meets throughout the season.

We swim all year round with exception of school and Jewish holidays. So come on down to pool deck at Moriah and have a swim with us and remember, swimming is fun, swimming is for everyone! It’s never too late to join.
