Meet Ezra Mizrahi! Maccabi NSW's first ever All Abilities Co-ordinator!

Posted: 08-Feb-2017 by Maccabi NSW

Ezra Mizrahi’s community-based mindset and thirst for equal opportunity see him come into Maccabi NSW with a mission.

In his role as Maccabi NSW’s first ever all abilities officer, Mizrahi’s work will revolve around the integration of all abilities members of the community into a wide range of Maccabi events.

Ezra comes to us with an extensive background in his field. He has worked in the disabilities sector for three years and additionally brings with him a passion for sport, wellbeing and health which he is hoping to transfer onto all those he works with.

When quizzed on why he does what he does, Ezra’s response pinpoints exactly why he is so suited to this newly created role in our organisation.

“I do what I do as I believe that all individuals have the right to equal and easy access to participate in activities of their choosing – in this case, sports and recreation,” Mizrahi said.

“I strongly believe in inclusion across the community, and I am looking forward to seeing this realised through the help of individuals in the community”

His participation-based approach will be key to his work as he aims to put in place a framework to ensure all members of the community can get involved in Maccabi in whatever form they so choose.

Mizrahi officially began in his new role in late January and has already dived head first into his task.

His goals for the year are exciting as he targets the creation of new sporting events, both competitive and social, which encourage people in our community with disabilities to socialise, hone their sporting skills and most importantly – have fun.

Ezra wishes to extend an open invitation to the community to contribute their ideas, suggestions and thoughts towards his work.

Don’t be afraid to get in touch with him! He loves a coffee and is always keen for a chat!

Ezra Mizrahi can be contacted through nswaa@maccabi.com.au.
