Emanuel, Masada name Maccabi Sportspeople of the year

Posted: 15-Dec-2016 by Maccabi NSW

Emanuel and Masada this week became the latest schools to present the winners of their Maccabi NSW sportsman and woman awards.

The schools join Moriah in doing so, while Mt Sinai will complete the awards season by announcing their winners next week.

The Emanuel junior sportsman award saw a tie. With Brayden Bloch and BJ Shapiro unable to be split, whilst the female award went to Ellie Morris.

Emanuel's senior prizes were taken home by Aidan Zlotnick and Danielle Rutstein (pictured below).

Meanwhile at Masada, David Cohen and Tamira Cohn-Hedges swept the prizes.

This year marks the second year that these awards have been presented on a school level. They are donated by the York family in partnership with Maccabi NSW.

The award encourages students to live a healthy and balanced life, to develop positive self-esteem and to foster enjoyment, teamwork, cooperation, commitment and self-discipline in their young recipients.
