Maccabi Basketball roundup

SENIOR MENS REPORT

One of the Maccabi Senior Men's Basketball teams the "Rockets" played the VP Allstars in a very tough encounter - going down 48-22.

The game started slowly for each team, with players trying to convert their shots but it didn't come easily.

Darren Werner tried to get the team motivated by getting the ball inside the paint however Alex Baroukh shot well from the 3 point line and ignited the team. The opposition were quick on the fast breaks and were allowed too many easy shots. Maccabi's defence started to slip with a half time score of 23-12.

In the second half, despite the team not being able to contain their opponents and make any defensive stops, Maccabi centre Barry Dubovsky had a big impact on the game with 3 great blocks and he also top scored with 13 points.

David Bloch was also an offensive threat. But in the end, the Rockets had no answers for their talented opponents with the final score 48-22.

B. Dubovsky 13, A. Baroukh, 5, D. Werner 2, D. Bloch 2
