Q3. When are the grading days?

You can find the schedule for grading days by looking at our season schedule.
Further details about grading will be made available during the registration days.
In addition, trial games against other Clubs will be arranged prior to the start of the season.

Q4. Can my child play with friends?

Our Club regards the grading process as being an important part of the season’s preparation. We have found that players who are not graded properly do not have as much fun playing as they otherwise could. If they are too weak for the team in which they are playing they never get a “look-in”. If they are too strong they do not have the chance to develop as well as they could (and the rest of the team might not get that “look-in”!). Our emphasis is very much on fun, but we also like to make sure the players are given every chance to improve their soccer skills and to try to make sure they come back to soccer year after year. There is some leeway in the Under 6 and Under 7 age groups for players to play with friends,.

Q5. Does my child have to play in his or her own age group or can he or she play up?

It is the club's preference for all players to play in their own age group. Players may be able to play above their age group provided that this does not effect the club’s ability to field a full team and reserves in accordance with NSFA's policy on team numbers in the age group that the player should play in. Should a request be made for a player to play up an age group, the committee must consider all implications including that of the players in the higher age group, what team the player will play in the higher age group, what consequences the decision may have on both age groups and the precidnet it sets. Should the committee agree to the request, the placement of the player in the higher age group will be reviewed at the commencement of each season.

Q6. What times and places will my child most likely play?

Most junior games are played on Saturdays between 8.30 and Noon. The Northern Suburbs Football Association (Formerly KDSA) stretches from the lower north shore to Brooklyn, although the younger age groups are unlikely to travel too far, as they are grouped into the northern area of NSFA. From Juniors Under 9 upwards, some games are organised for the afternoon.

Q7. Who is my Manager?

Teams allocate Managers after the grading process is complete. After that time, you’ll find details of team Managers on our contacts page.

Q8. What day will training be?

After the grading process, each team nominates a Manager, Coach and, in the Under 6 to Under 9 age groups, a referee, normally from parents of players in that team. The Manager and Coach are responsible for deciding on a training day that best suits the majority of the team, and it is subject to space being available at the time and location selected. It’s not possible until this happens to say which day training will take place.

Q9. Do you have Women's teams?

We currently have U12, U14 , U16 and U18 .The club has a policy of co ed teams in our junior levels U6 thru U11.

Q10. What are the fees for soccer?

Fees for the 2014 season are listed below.
In exciting news, we are proud to announce a freeze on player fees for 2014. While this may not seem significant, it is important to contextualize this decision.

In December NSFA announced plans to move towards a new fee system over several years that has seen our club face significantly higher association costs. Despite a 5-15% jump in fees from NSFA, we are striving to make grassroots football affordable and find alternative funding strategies.

Approximately 70% of registration fees are paid directly to the Northern Suburbs Football Association (Formerly KDSA)  to pay for player registrations, insurance, grounds, lighting and general administration.
Our fees also include your uniform, all the equipment that is needed, specialised training throughout the year, as well as Maccabi affiliation fees.
