Tight battle at the finals of the Eric Rosenberg Maccabi Matchplay Championships

Posted: 09-Oct-2019 by Golf

64 Players entered the Eric Rosenberg Maccabi Matchplay Championships back in February and the tournament reached its conclusion at NSW Golf Course on the 26th September 2019.

In excellent conditions the two finalists, Steve Krost and Graham Shulman, fought out a tight battle. After turning all square after 9 holes, Steve made a great shot on 10 from the wrong fairway to take the lead. Steve followed this up with a win on the 12th to go 2 up. Holes 13 through 16 were halved and when Steve putted from off the green to within two feet of the hole, Graham conceded the putt for Steve to win 2 & 1. It was a great match played in tremendous spirit.

Congratulations to the winner Steve and the runner up Graham who are now the first players to qualify for 2020 NSW Maccabi Presidents Cup team to play in the Presidents Cup at the Vines in WA in March.

Thank you Dan Segal who kindly hosted the final and also the Craig Maltz who organised the whole tournament. The 2020 matchplay knock out will commence in February.
