Futsal: Magnificent games played against Dural

Last week, our senior Futsal team played the mighty Dural. At the end of the night we had drawn the games, but there were some magnificent results.

Our under 16 teams led by Coby New, Julian Shalome and Elad Ben David are the quality team in the competition. Most of these boys have been with the club since under 12s and the training is really showing. They easily counted for the Dural team. Our youth men are one of the best teams at the moment in the state, with many players getting time in the men’s team. This however the game was called off when a player suffered an injury. The Dural men have won the premier league competition more times than the rest of the clubs combined. They have so many National players in their team that hey are called the Duralroos. Hakoah however led by Robbie Ezekiel have trained for the last two years through Covid and are now fighting to replace Dural as the top team. This week in the clash of the giants Hakoah for the first time in its history beat Dural.

Our girls sides are not as strong as our men’s but our under 15s drew as did our U17s. Our women’s team which has been decimated by Covid and W league clubs signing our players were beaten by Dural but still put up a great fight. The really pleasing thing about the girls sides at the moment is the number of younger players getting experience playing up an age group. U13s are playing in the U15, U15 in the U17s and U17s playing in he women. WE have one U13 that is so good she plays U17s and one U15 that is so good she plays for the women

The Club also has 14 younger teams playing on Sundays at Marrickville. This competition is designed to fun, fast and high scoring. We have teams from under 8’s all the way through to the under 13s, both boys and girls. This is the first year (and what a year to choose to start) that the club has focused on building up the younger players numbers. Next year we hope to have even more teams in the Marrickville competition. As they say Children are our future.
