Connecting our Jewish Community through sport and wellbeing

Maccabi is a world wide organisation

We are the largest Jewish grass-roots organisation in Australia, boasting a 90-year heritage, 35,000 supporters and more than 6,000 members ranging in age from 5 to 85 years across over 50 clubs.

Every week, participating in a Maccabi team provides an opportunity for Jewish children to connect and form lifelong friendships. Our event calendar includes an annual Junior Sports Carnival, participation in the Maccabiah Games in Israel, interstate sport challenges and Maccabi regional events.

Maccabi NSW has 20 affiliated clubs representing a diverse range of sporting interests and our membership ranges from 2,500-3,000 members. Each club runs autonomously with their own executive team and the club presidents attend quarterly Council of Presidents meetings during the year with the Maccabi NSW Executive.

We also have a thriving All Abilities program and a full calendar of Maccabi Life events. We’d love to see you there!

In NSW, Maccabi is one of the 25 Jewish Communal Appeal (JCA) constituent members and is involved in all aspects of JCA’s fundraising activities within the community.

Maccabi LIFE

Maccabi LIFE is a bold community initiative which was created in 2019 and developed to create sustainable health change in the Australian Jewish community by promoting the benefits of a healthy lifestyle.

The goal is to promote health and well-being options outside of our Sport programs to the full range of age demographics through 3 distinct pillars – Physical Activity, Healthy Eating and Mental Wellbeing. This will be achieved through education sessions, online events, and unstructured activity.

Maccabi LIFE will partner with leading health and wellness professionals to create a wide range of events and activities that are relevant and evolve with the ever-changing health needs of our community.
